Senior Peer Mentor

As a Senior Peer Mentor, I support peer mentors as they guide Arts and Education students through university life. My role has included facilitating mentor training and meetings, observing mentoring practice, providing feedback, supporting mentors through challenges and contributing ideas to strengthen the wider student experience.
The role has deepened my understanding of facilitation, belonging, communication and student transition, while showing me that leadership is often less about having the answer and more about helping others think, grow and find their own way forward.

As a DeakinTALENT Career Ambassador, I help students engage with career development and employability opportunities through career conversations, resume support, employer engagement, student events and professional development initiatives.
The role has strengthened my interest in how education can support students beyond academic learning — helping them understand their strengths, navigate opportunities, make informed decisions and build confidence as they prepare for life beyond university.
